TO MY SON, MY JOY, WHO IS GROWING UP SO FAST!

Dear Ethan,

You are almost one years old! I can't believe how much you are learning. Every day you amaze us! This past year has gone by so fast, Ethan. And now, you are learning to walk, you have two new teeth, you can say da-da and mama, you can drink out of a cup and you love to eat macaroni and cheese and toast...just like your daddy!

Your favorite things to play with are the car keys, the remote control, tupperware and telephone cords. But you much prefer to be outside, among the flowers and the birds. You love animals!! You squeal in delight and point your little finger with glee whenever we see a dog or a bird pass by! You also love to cuddle in bed with daddy and me in the mornings. Those are my favorite times!

I love you so much son! Daddy and I are going to show you the world. We want you to be so happy in this life...to have big dreams, to know that there are so many possibilities to explore, to know the greatest joy that love and compassion for others can bring, to not be afraid to take on new challenges, but to appreciate the everyday joys in life, as you do now. Oh, Ethan, there is so much we want for you. But, above all, we want you to be happy with yourself! To be confident and truly secure in this world. We will give you all the love and joy we can...but we know that you will have to face the challenges this world can bring. No matter what lies ahead, mommy and daddy will be here for you! You are our pride and joy.....the greatest thing that has ever happened to us!
