We were up early this morning and drove up to Hartford, CT to visit Trinity College. It is well known in New England, especially among prep school students, for their top squash teams. One of the easiest ways to be admitted to an Ivy League or other top tier liberal arts college is to be a great squash, lacrosse, or crew member. Of course, in addition to having perfect grades and in the 90th percentile of the SAT......etc.... We also did a quick drive by of the Hopkins School, the oldest and one of the most prestigious prep high schools in the United States. It was founded in 1660, and tuition for this high school is only $25,000 per year!

Trinity College

From there we drove to Yale for one last goodbye to our Paraguayan friends, and a quick shot of espresso. We then headed North up towards Providence, RI. On the way we did a quick stop over at Connecticut College so Pa could visit one of his friends in admisions, and a Paraguayan student he worked with two years ago. Her name is Andrea Burt, and she is a super person, who comes from one of the nicest families you will ever meet. She is one of those students who really deserves to be receiving practically a free education in one of the most selective colleges in the U.S.

Ma, Andrea, her friend, and I enjoying the Conn. College campus. Ahhh, it was so great to hear Spanish again. My eyes lit up when they all started talking in Castellano!

All this traveling is really starting to make me tired. I needed a brief respite from the car seat, and a hit of the chupete.

After a nice visit with Andrea, we finally reached our last stop in Providence, RI -which seems like a very pretty and engaged city.
