The four hour drive from Aconcagua to Mendoza was incredible. It must be one of the most amazing drives in the world through wild high plateau; with mountains, rivers, gorges, and other beautiful scenery. Pa said that is looks like the high country in the Himalayas; which must be true as this is where they filmed the Brad Pitt movie "Seven Days in Tibet".

Not a lot of traffic or anything else along this long spanse of highway. However, there were numerous police check points.

It was strange because the scenery would keep changing. Some parts seemed to look like Arizona geography.

This was a very interesting lake beacuse a huge muddy river emptied right into it, yet the lake remains crystal clear. You can see the muddy water from the river toward the mountains in the background.

One last scenery change before we entered the flat vineyards of Mendoza. Mendoza produces about 80% of all Argentine wine. If you get a chance by a bottle of La Linda, it is Ma's favorite red wine.

Finally we reached Mendoza to see a beautiful sunset, throw rocks into the river, and look at Aconcagua in the distance:)
