Ok, it is time to have a look at my new home in Lo Barnechea, Santiago, Chile. The living environment is VERY different than Paraguay. It feels like we are living in Northern California. There are no personal security guards, no 15 foot walls (only 10 foot:), and there is virtually no crime, but everyone does take precautions! Anyway, my house is about a 45 minute drive from the airport, or 20 minutes from downtown Santiago. We live in a suburb called Lo Barhechea at an elevation of about 3000 feet. Actually, we live in an area called "Los Tranpenses" which is considered the most posh neighborhood in all of Chile. That is good and bad. The neighorbood does lack a little character with the block housing projects. But, having the andes out the back door makes for great walks and future bike rides.

We have plenty of room for visitors, as our house has three floors, with two extra rooms ready for guests. Also, we have a small pool for swimming in the summer, and a great patio for asados and sun tanning. So, get down here and visit, as grandma Harris and Uncle Mike have already done. We expect Dad's friend Troy to be here soon to do some bicycle training, and Uncle Tom from Bellingham in search of adventure. We really await the day that other family come to visit, or other friends like the Whipples, the Nowaks, The Bedfords, or any of the many Harris family.
